I've got one of those in my top desk drawer at home! Dad used to use it to do his taxes before calculators became commonplace. He taught me how to use this and a slide rule when I was about seven or eight.

Miss Wilson was referred to as a "woodland bride" and an "untutored bride" in many newspaper reports. Another article in the same edition may have been intended to counteract this. The article takes pains to point out that the future bride is "the picture of health and a comparative stranger to cosmetics".
I can't find much post-marriage info on them.
Here she is (I don't know if it's her kid)
She died at 43 in 1951.
He became a doctor and lived to be 94
