The Hoot Hoot I Scream shack was a Los Angeles ice cream parlor built in the 1920s. It was demolished in the 1950s.

I like pictures that are relatively easy to narrowly date based on context. This picture was almost certainly taken between July 31 and August 7th, 1987. Perhaps later in August, but probably not much.

Trivia: This calendar was published in Germany, but despite the Germany-related background collage (Kempinski Hotels) the photograph was likely taken in New York, by commercial photog Victor Keppler. His original images are valued more than $3,000. Gives me hope that one day fifty years from now some of mine will be worth "tree fitty". Of course, that would buy a cup of coffee in the future.
