Yeah, the "he didn't have to shoot that many times" is generally irrelevant in most cases, IMO. Most people don't even know how many rounds they expend in these situations due to the adrenaline dump.

Comparing 2 completely different situations to draw a conclusion like that is just blatantly dishonest.

I try not to get caught up in the amount of shots as well. If one shot is justified, are the other 5 really that different? I guess there is a point where it is excessive, but in a quick succession like that, I'm not going to criticize.

It does make it seem worse though, IMO.

Racial profiling explains why Castile was stopped. Let's not kid ourselves.

ETA: Nothing but down votes for saying something painfully obvious. Dude was stopped because he was black and two black guys had robbed a store 4 days prior. Happens all the time.

being released, what LEO out there would now be against full audio video of every encounter?

But how will they perform their warrantless searches with a camera watching them?!

how's it different? You don't see the other cop, standing right by the window looking at the guy make any move until his partner starts shooting, then he GTFO. What makes you think Castile went for the gun?

It does look bad to the ignorant masses (not directing that to you). I've been in dozens of shooting competitions and I can tell you that your brain goes into a completely different mode when you have to shoot under pressure. I get big adrenaline dumps when I'm shooting paper or steel. I can't imagine what it's like when the possibility of being shot at gets thrown in the mix.

You don't see how these are 2 different situations?

What makes you think that cop knew what was going on on the driver's side? That cop's job is to secure the passenger.

What makes you think Castile went for the gun?

Was he not going for something in his pocket?

but trying to show him where the firearm was located. Maybe that wasn't the best decisio

This is why I fully support the need for "how to act when you get pulled over" class in drivers Ed or on the DMV license test.

Too many of these situations happened because of ignorance.

I volunteer to teach this course.

My curriculum consists of one sentence: "Don't act a plumb fool."

The End

Do you have a video of one, who matches the description of an armed robbery suspect, put his hands on his AR after a police officer has told him not to?

Your logic is asinine. It's the equivalent of a black guy getting a DUI while drinking in front of a cop and you saying: white guys sit in their houses all day and drink and of course the cop gets the black guy driving in his car while hammered.

No its not. If I am in that situation (which I don't sit on my license) but if I were I would say to the officer Like he did "I have and LTC and it is near my license may I step out ad allow you to take the firearm off me so I can reach into my pocket and retrieve my license?"

If the driver had taken a few seconds to do so he would be alive today and his ex would still be poor.

Seems like after the officer tells him not to pull it out, he says "I'm gonna have to pull it out."

Why would he have to pull it out?

The other cop is watching the passenger and backseat and not focused on what the driver is doing.

At the angle he is at he probably can't even see the driver very well.
