No, we have a research center based around society, demographics, public opinions, etc. It's basically human trends. Twitter is a massive social media site and research on how people use it is massively valuable especially to marketing/advertising companies or departments.

Exactly. I get why news sources do it, for clicks, but the people who get all bent out of shape about it here are just retarded.

Oh it's real life, but like you said, it's a minute segment. Real life for a small segment of the population isn't real life for the whole population. It's just a snapshot of society, albeit a very loud one.
