Usually. A lot of my old friends in their 40s got divorced and never remarried but they're marginal marriage material because they have some terribly unrealistic views on a spouse.

I imagine it's all about opportunity like almost everything else s. The right candidate comes along and they're all in.

I've stopped saying "never" because weird things happen in life, you gotta roll with it

Depends on the person I guess. My dad is pretty financially well off (he retired at 55) and a decent looking guy. He had options but no desire to put himself out there again after the way my parent's marriage ended.

I can understand it. Some people have a strong resolve that overrides everything. I've never been that strong willed. I prefer to leave some options open as you never know who and what will cross your path. Everything is an opportunity.

He's a free spirit and travels a lot with the girlfriend. I think he's been to 50+ countries and all over the US.

He left for Montana yesterday and I'm taking the family up to his place in a few weeks. He told me he can't wait to take his granddaughter hiking up in the mountains.

My brother is about to marry his 5th and my sister just divorced her 4th.

I’m still on my first marriage but I was supposed to be the problem child. Take that mom and dad.

I have a friend that got married to his 4th wife. We were all joking around a few months before the wedding and kept telling him, “I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make this one, but I promise I’ll make the next one”.

She's not married brother and she is indeed very fricked up. Living with her parents again in her late 40s.

Ah well, at least he has companionship. Don't need to be legally bound.

My ex wife is on number 4. She's nice looking and after our divorce married a State Trooper (narcissist) a doctor (addiction issues) and now a guy who retired early.

She's very strong willed and sees life in black/white. That can be very abrasive.

I have reason to believe ex-wife is on to number 3. I was #2.

I'm #2 for my wife. Her first one lasted 2.5 years. We've been married for 14. It sounds obvious but it's entirely about whether or not you are compatible with the person you married and that you aren't batshit insane.

My MIL has been married 5 times. I guess the fifth time was the charm. She has been married to her current husband for over 20 years.

Good for her man. I think most people that are married more than 3 times are probably extreme narcissists or have some character flaws but surely not all.

An aunt of mine has been married 8 or 9 times. There was one relationship that were still not quite sure if they were married .
