We have 13 grandkids. My wife has taught about 8 of them to tie their shoes, plus our own four kids. She’s very patient, and it takes her about 10 minutes to teach them.

I know my OP was kind of dumb but I think it really is true that slip in type shoes are getting more and more prevalent in the younger generation. Maybe in his generation he won’t need to learn and it won’t be considered different to not know how to tie shoes. I’m serious my 8 year old none of his friends tie their shoes. They all wear slip in type shoes. Anyway god bless you and your kid sir. He is lucky to have such a good and conscientious father. That is a super power not a “disability”.
