Weird right? When I was a kid, we were not allowed distractions. It was considered rude. And yet we were well mannered and respectful.
I guess previous generations never took their kids out ever.

There has never been a generation of 2-4 year olds that sit idly for an hour. It goes against human nature

Sell yourself on whatever fantasy you need to. Kids act like kids no matter how much you lie about it. My kids aren't shitty, but they don't act like adults. Mind blowing stuff.
You’re like the black kid in the ghetto who refuses to believe anything different because he hasn’t experienced it. Enjoy.

Your toddlers never acted like adults. You never acted like an adult when you were a toddler.

The more I read this thread, the more I am thankful for the parents I have.

What do you think I'm lying about? My surprise or that I have two boys aged 3 and 5?

If you sat still for hours at a time at 2 you were drugged by your parents

It doesn’t happen. Sorry

I don’t talk about geopolitical issues, inflation, or other issues with my child. And that’s ok, I get to hear about their day.

Nothing wrong with crayons.

I have never in my life seen this in real life. Where the hell are yall eating?
Same here. Kids are usually really quiet when they are on their phones in my experience. OP must eat in some trashy places.

Nothing wrong with crayons.
People from the 50s likely thought kids in the 80s eating their crayon were trashy and lazy parents….

Crayons are fine, but a potential learning tool with infinite amounts of information and function, makes you a bad parent. That's laughable. FYI everyone said the same thing when the first NEWSPAPER came out, people hate change, who knew?

Just ask the parent if you can have their phone number, then when they ask why, in your best Jack Nicolson impersonation, say,
"Oh, you don't seem to mind annoying the frick out of me and everybody in the restaurant with your phone. I just thought I might enjoy annoying the frick out of you with mine. How's that sound to you? Swell?"

So when I said talk, what did you think that meant?
Exactly what you said. It's not my fault if you meant to say something else and are just bad at communicating.
May be why you fail so hard at talking with 14-month olds.

The rule in our house is simple, we will tolerate no bullshite in public. Piss and moan all you want at home but so help me I will drop kick your arse if you act a fool in public.
