Why would you not want a Lil' Sebastian?

So we were with a group of friends and family biking the trail in Vicksburg at the battlefield where all of the monuments are. The group stopped for lunch at the Illinois monument. After we were done eating, most of the kids were outside the monument playing with a Frisbee, while I was inside looking at all of the plaques inside (The Illinois monument is a giant pavilion).

Everything got completely quiet, I could no longer hear the group outside. Suddenly, I hear shouts, then booms, then gunfire. I heard a great commotion of a battle. I looked around the monument and no one was there, the group was gone. The shouts and cannon blasts got louder and louder. Suddenly, I see my friend lying in the center of the monument facing straight up at the dome. I wake him up and all of the battle sounds suddenly stop. I look outside and the group is back. My friend is white as a ghost.

I ask him if he heard those noises, he said "I was there". He suddenly was dressed in a grey uniform marching in line with fixed bayonets. He was facing a trench filled with men in blue uniforms. Cannon-fire overhead. Rifles roaring and smoke everywhere. He said he saw the men on either side of him fall and then he was shot in the chest and woke up. He swears by this to this very day.

So, your friend was one of those Confederates, eh? Why do you suppose he traveled back in time to be shot as a traitor?

Was this a punishment? Like in that Twilight Zone episode where the captain of the submarine that torpedoed the Lusitania keeps going back to the event?

Well, I suppose it was because one of his ancestors fought for the Confederacy. I really don't know the answer.

The irony is that the people pretending that ghosts exist are the ones who are pretending that they have all the answers.

Taking as open minded but rational look at the possibility of the existence of ghosts there is no reason to think that they exist. There are many reasons to think that they don't.

there are things in this universe that we could not even begin to comprehend. to pretend you know is quite moronic.

do i believe in ghosts/afterlife? Yes.
do i know for a fact that they exists? no.
do i think that you're a moron for not believing? no
