children that age dont yet have a sense of sexuality or gender identity.

THIS KID IS 6, NOT 3.

Not sure where the OP got age 3. The video says they decided at age 5 that it was time to listen.

The video was good.

I don't want children, but I decided long ago if I ever changed my mind, my children would be raised gender neutral. Given both "boy" and "girl" toys.. etc.
Not so much dressed in dresses as a boy or anything, but very neutral clothing that works for both genders.

So this 3 year old was born a girl but thinks she's a boy. She was born with a vagina correct?
She has the genetic makeup of a female, but in her barely developed 3 year old brain she wants to be a boy for awhile? Sounds like it will work out really well for everyone involved.

They started making the accommodations at age three. At age five full implementation of the new gender took place.

So... what major decision that can't be fixed if it's just a phase was their kid allowed to make?

Uh...the psychological development and damage being caused. Kids psychological development is HUGE from 2-10 years of age.

I don't see an issue the kid will know more about their own makeup than a bunch of strangers

Yeah, because we should all listen to what a 3 year old says. Do you libs even listen to yourselves at times?

Ohhhhh...here we go. A 19 year old college freshman feels enlightened and superior. I know it helps your self-esteem and makes you feel intellectually superior to bash religion and the South, but what you're doing is no better than somebody who makes generalizations about blacks or asians based on stereotypes. You libs really don't have any common sense or shame in the hypocrisy of it all.

When do gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people first know?
People can realize their sexual orientation and gender identity at any point during their lives. Many simply grow up knowing, while some come to understand their identity and orientation later in life (in their teens or 20s, for example). It is important to note that nothing someone encounters in life can 'make' one gay, bisexual, lesbian, or transgender. Although events in a person's life can be catalysts toward self-discovery, sexual experience is not necessary for anyone to understand their sexual orientation. How does a heterosexual male know he is attracted to women before having sexual experience, or a heterosexual woman know that she is attracted to men? They just know. It is the same with gay, lesbian, and bisexual people. Similarly, a transgender person does not have to have lived as a gender to know that it is his/her correct gender.

First of all, there's no scientific evidence or genetic information whatsoever to prove this, so you're basically going off the word of people who have a vested interest

Another case of attention whore parents trying to get some attention via their child. You have to do some pretty weird stuff to get national attention these days.

For fricks sake. Don't have kids until you get this bullshite notion that would only alienate the child out of your head.

Absolutely.

Gender identity is a combination of biological and learned behavior. Gender awareness can start as early as 2-3 years old, but that just really means a child starts to be able to tell the differences between the genders and may or may not identify with one. Any child who has cemented an identity by the age of 5 is being influenced by introduction to gender roles.

I find it interesting that the kid is conveniently named a name that works for both genders. It would be really screwed up if these parents are doing all of this just to promote the LGBT movement at the expense of their child.

That's exactly what is happening.
