Now that I'm done melting we are trying to salvage something from this trip. So we are gonna try to stick it out and at least get some parading in tomorrow (Muses maybe some of Babylon) but have to drive back to GA at some point. We have only ever watched the parades on St. Charles between Louisiana and Jackson.
If I want to be as close to the beginning of the route as possible what's the parking/viewing situation there on Magazine/Jefferson? Pretty easy to navigate or any special tips to make it less of a hassle?

I’m hearing Muses is going to start at Napoleon and Perrier but thats from my wife’s friend
who is a rider.
Take that for what it’s worth

If you see a bead you like in the middle of the road.. walk out and grab it. The floats will stop for you

And being that the weather is supposed to be perfect and the 1st parade starts at 445 uptown is going to be a shite show

The Krewe of Nyx floats that did not ride Wednesday after a fatal accident on the route could possibly ride with Pandora on Sunday.

Watch somewhere around Napoleon/St Charles. Easy in and out.

Why did you go to Mardi Gras before it really even started ? If you wanted to plan a trip why not wait until the big boys of Endymion and Bacchus ? Dumbass

Because I’m not available next weekend, my kids don’t give a shite the name of the parade the floats, the beads and other crap are all the same, the crowds are smaller, the hotels are cheaper. Any other questions?

You may want to park on State Street (between Magazine & St. Charles, but obviously closer to Mag) or one of the adjacent side streets and walk to Jefferson. From there, make your way down Magazine until you find a decent spot. It's a pretty family friendly area.
When you're ready to leave, it's easy to get to Carrollton from St. Charles (which is away from the parading Chaos), and that takes you to the interstate.

Here's what I would do if I were you.
Aim to stand near Napoleon and St Charles. It will be crowded. But the starting situation is going to be "in flux" to say the least tomorrow night so I wouldn't try to get closer to the start then that point.
Park on the north side (lake side) of St Charles and the West side of Napoleon.
Walk to spot. Watch what you can.
When you are ready to go, walk back to car. Get back to Napoleon northbound, take a right onto Claiborne, take Claiborne until elevated section, merge onto I-10 East.
Have a safe drive home.

Then you should have gone this past weekend.

Should have come to mobile. We have barricades so people can’t get killed and frick up other people’s buzzes.

It's laughable at this point but anybody still trying to defend the decision to cancel? This is a hurricane city and you call this wind?

Here’s what I would do. Park your car near Jefferson on the lake side of magazine. That’s as early as you’ll catch the parades and you can pull straight out down Jefferson to Claiborne and jump on the interstate from there. You’ll need to get there early but there’s food options if the kids get hungry and magazine is just a nice street in general to walk down and sight see.
Good luck and I hope you guys enjoy it. It’s going to be a madhouse tomorrow.
ETA: you could do the Audubon zoo, drive down magazine and eat at guys, then get a parking spot close to Jefferson / magazine, catch a little of the parade and roll out.
