Paging Napoleon, Whirlpool Gold Gas Cooktop acting up...

As a long time lurker and new poster, I probably shouldn't ask for help yet but I will thinking you know exactly what's up. I have a Whirlpool Gold Gas Cooktop that has started to spark constantly on all burners when they are on the highest or lowest 1/4 of the control range. Doesn't seem to matter which burner, they all do it for some time until they've been run for some time after cleaning. After they've been cleaned, it is more like the top/ bottom 1/3rd of the control range but never better than +/-25%.
It lights fine, runs fine unless it doesn't which is on either end of the operating range.
Replace the cooktop? Replace a regulator of some sort? Replace the maid who insists on cleaning under the burners weekly? Use a different cleaner for the burners(Simple Green)?

Thanks, I've considered that but I just bought this house and a major kitchen reno is in the works but until then, I'd love to cook with the full capability of the burners. Seems like the most common settings for me are at 80% and 20% of full which means the sparking drives me crazy or I'm cooking too high/ low for what I want...

Did you take them apart and make sure there isn't any water in them?

Yes, I considered that because it seems to get better after they've been run for some time after the maid cleans them. It is also why I asked about changing the cleaner too.

I broke mine down as far as they would go - they were damp. Dried them and they worked fine. Maid problem also :-) but it looks so nice after she cleans?

I'll take a look and see if they can be broken down further. Yes, maid is an issue because she speaks mostly Creole French but she is fantastic in every other way possible, she isn't going anywhere...

Dammit.
My cooktop has done that occasionally I just thought the igniter system was fried and would just unplug the electric cord underneath and use an aim & flame.
Weeks later, I'd plug it in an everything was fine.
