I have an LG that is 11 years old and I just had to make the first repair (drain pump) on it. Running perfect now and I hope to get another 11 years out of it.

Unfortunately this is hard to avoid. I clean it monthly now but I didn't at first. Maintenance cleaning leaving the door open as much as possible seems to help quite a bit.

well theyd have to stop running to leave the door open lol. They seem to run constantly . Everybody says to stay away from LG and Samsung but they get the highest ratings on Consumer Reports. Oh well

Get a Maytag HE top loader and leave the lid up when nite in use. Run an Affresh tab every couple of months on the clean cycle and you're set for 10+ years.
