you looking for a simple over under shop fridge? Amana or Whirlpool. Whatever is cheapest.
Check for ice building up on the back wall of your current fridge, it could just be a defrost issue based on the humidity (if a garage fridge)

if it's a whirring sound then it's #309 on this link the main bearing.
If it is a grinding noise, on that unit then it could be a gearcase issue, but could be a bad belt, or even a bad pulley.
If it's more of a wet clunky sound it could be the impeller on the pump which only comes on in spin. So if you were to describe the noise, how would you?

It looks OK, no ice that I could see.
I've had it for awhile and really like how it looks.
We put a compressor in it about 3 years ago, maybe the same issue?
I would call that guy back, but he was hard to get a hold of...

Could have a leak. Did he leave the access port on for the freon? If so you can get a can of automotive R-134a and add it in until you are above 0psi on the low side.
The "correct" fix for a leak is pricey. Evac the system, fill with Nitrogen, find leak, braise, evac, fill, evac fill evac, fill with measured amount of R-134a, seal up system.
Minimum charge is like $350 to do that, a compressor adds another $300. Most just buy a new fridge.

It's definitely a whirring noise.

tbh, I would pay that on account of the fridge matches the cabinets.
