Man, sore is the best kind of pain.

It means it's working.

Foam rolling and yoga work wonders. Using the foam roller is almost orgasmic. But, hey, do what makes you happy.

Just ordered p90x3. Will be at the house Wednesday. Ready to get back in shape. Any pointers? Meal guidelines I should follow. I'm 6'1" 215lbs. Looking to get back to 190ish.

Eat right, bro. Eat right. Follow the nutrition plan.

Other than that, bring it. When I started X2, I was embarrassed by how much I couldn't do. But, I kept going. Now, there are some moves where I'm critical of the kids' forms.

Not sure how it is for X3, but my X2 one came with some recipes. I didn't use them, though. I just followed what was what. I've learned that food has 3 characteristics: carbs, fat, protein. The nutrition plan will tell you what food is classified as what. Mine came with a long list, and I just took it as a guide. Nutrition is not easy. In fact, I just emailed DrTyger because I have questions and concerns. Just do your best and change the diet if your body needs it. I know when I started X2 it said start with Fat Shredder, but only stay on it for 3 weeks. Then, you adjust the diet. Then, again. But, that's just what it told me to do. X3 might be different. I'd ask Dr. Tiggs.

Ha. My FIL owned the building, we actually just sold it to the guy that owns GB. He leased it from us for a while and came up with some cash to buy it. I spent a couple months up there after they got it running because I'm building a restaurant back down towards BR. Lived in that Candlewood Suites by Home Depot

For those that have done/are doing T25, could one work in weight training at the gym 3 days a week while doing the T25 routine?

I know T25 focuses on cardio, and I really need to ramp that up, but I don't want to lose my muscle mass gains.

Could I keep my M, W, F weight training at the gym or would my muscles revolt? I'm relatively fit, but not a professional football player, so I'm not trying to pull two-a-days and be completely exhausted. I know Insanity had you doing a lot of push ups and plank work, which would interfere with my chest day [same with squats and leg days].

Get what I'm asking?

Sorry for the delay. As it turns out, it wasn't an academic study, but done by a writer for a fitness website:

quote:

Based on this experiment, here are the top three exercises in terms of mean and peak activity for each muscle part:

Biceps

Mean - Weighted Wide Parallel-Grip Pull-up, Weighted Chin-up, BB Curl

Peak - Weighted Chin-up, Weighted Wide Parallel-Grip Pull-up, EZ-Bar Curl

T25 still has some weights in it. It's high rep-high pace weights though.

If you have the time, I don't see a problem with staking it with weight training. Just make sure you don't let those days overlap with T25 days or you'll over-train.

That is my fear. Isn't T25 a daily routine for like 2 or 3 months? I lift M/W/F, so there would definitely be overlap.

Work. Home to do T25. Gym to lift. Home to eat.

That would essentially be my M/W/F routine. Other days are dedicated to cardio only.

I meant don't let your lifting days overlap with T25s resistance days. There's only a few in there, you may have to fudge your MWF schedule a but but it shouldn't effect you too much.

And if a T25 workout is lower body resistance then you can do upper body the same day as long as you can rest both the next day. I use the philosophy of minimum one day rest for a muscle group after resistance training.
