The wife and I started P90X3 yesterday. I'm what you call "skinny fat" and haven't really done much exercising during the last couple of years. Once my body gets better acclimated, I'll probably knock out some doubles to get back on schedule so the rest day option falls on Saturday (or Sunday).
We are headed to Jamaica the last week of May so we will only be able to complete about 75 days of the program before the trip. The plan was to start earlier so we could get it done right before but it just didn't happen. I expect to see good results in the 75 days though, then we will complete it when we return.

I'm in Week 6 and I find that I love this routine. I'm even mixing in doubles now. I get home from work (I do the scheduled routines in the morning) and I'm like, it's only 30 minutes, I'll just do Iso or Accelerator or The Challenge. I feel great.

How do doubles work? Is it doing the same workout twice at different points of your day?

2 different workouts in 1 day... I'm sure you can do them back-to-back, or space them out during the day.
I was going to do doubles a day or 2 just to get on schedule so my rest day falls on the weekend.

There's a doubles schedule that involves cardio on the same days as resistance days. The same as in the other P90X schedules.
I think he's referring to doubling up after missing a day.

correct - I couldn't handle doubles now, but since I started on a Tuesday I want to get my schedule on track so my optional rest day falls on the weekend. So I'll knock out 2 days in 1 to get on track.

My rest days are Tuesdays and Saturdays with the workout weeks starting on Sundays.
But, I still do my Recovery DVD's on rest days.

I double up when I miss a day myself. It is only 30 minutes but sometimes I'm on call after working 12 hours and can't even get that.
Sabi, that foam roller is magically isn't it? Oh, and Juan in that DVD is a friend if mine.

I haven't missed one yet, either. I think I'm addicted to it, actually.

Did classic the first month and just started doubles for the second.
I did eccentric lower this morning. Have CVX tonight.

I've been doing x3 in the AM and Insanity after work. Guarantees that I'll get at least one good work in.

Thinking about doing this once class is over to gain some weight actually. What do I need to do the workouts?
