T25 is a lot more cardio. Better for shedding fat.
P90X3 is more resistance training. Good for losing weight, but also toning up and getting stronger.

A lot like the original P90X vs Insanity.

Week 1 challenge I did 7-24 the whole way through.

I randomly do the back and chest dvd from p90x though because its my favorite workout so I was able to put up pretty good numbers for my first challenge.

What are the eccentic upper & lower workouts like? Im in my first transition week right now but, in a few days, I start hitting those two workouts regularly for the next three weeks.

Tony calls out the moves too fast. I find myself just running in circles.

When did this become the T-25 thread too?

I'm in now. Tonight will be week 4, day 3 of the alpha phase. I believe it is lower body focus.

Me, nor my wife, have really seen any results so far as far as weight gain. I have taken a few things out of my diet, daily coke, trying to snack less at night, but my weight is about the same. My legs are sore on the reg though, which is good I guess.

ETA: In a week or so when I get to Beta, I am going to try to really crack down diet wise too.

I am down about 5lbs. My wife hasnt lost any weight, but I can tell she has lost inches.

So you are on the transition week? How are the new exercises?

Yeah, we go down two then up two. Granted, we have a digital scale that is not that good. We can weigh ourselves at 5 different places in the house and get 5 different results, so we picked the garage floor and went with that.

She got pretty frustrated after week 2 and she had put on 2 or 3 pounds, but her last weigh in was back to normal.

No, we are in week 4 of alpha phase. Is there a transition week? I assumed it went straight into beta, but haven't looked into it. Some I do pretty good on, cardio, abs, stretching , but total body kicks my arse. I am so weak in the upper body. The plank, shoulder taps, tap each shoulder pushup, then tap one shoulder push up, kicks my arse. I end up with Tonya on that part.

Diet is extremely important. Those people on the results are doing the diet also.

Yeah, and that's where I struggle. Too picky of an eater. And too cheap to go with Shakeology.

My wife was into running when we met, and for 5 of the 6 years we've been married, I ran with her and lost about 15 pounds from my college days. Took about a half year off, got lazy in other words, and have put most of it back on. We used T25 to kind of get us going again. I think if I started hitting the treadmill again every morning I would be good. And hopefully this can help me get there again.

I said all that to say, I was on the same diet I am on now when running often. Which is no diet, eat pretty much whatever I wanted. Got a bad sweet tooth. But I also have a high metabolism. I guess I was expecting the same results from a 30 minute run and T25.

I do feel better though, more toned if you will, although I don't think my bone structure allows much muscle.

And FWIW, I am 31, 6'0", 185 pounds. So not like I am large by any means, just love to lose this gut I have built up over the winter.

I also just found this as far as calorie burn during T25. Definitely not the same calorie burn I would get with a 30 minute run.

Alpha Cycle:

Cardio – 265
Speed 1.0 – 260
Total Body Circuit – 280 (this is in my opinion the most challenging but BEST Alpha workout!)
Ab Intervals – 215
Lower Focus – 200

Beta Cycle:

Core Cardio – 270
Speed 2.0 – 255
Rip’t Circuit – 230
Dynamic Core – 235
Upper Focus – 235
