Had Upper Focus this morning. I'm in the Transition Week for X3 and it says today is Dynamix. I'm going to do Pilates instead. I'll do a stretch routine too. I just want to get more Pilates in. Good stuff.

X3 day 1 was this morning (actually this is the beginning of my second round of X3).
Tried it with the sound off except for the cues...got tired of Tony's constant ramblings during the previous 13 weeks
Strength gains were really impressive in my first round. Hopefully I can keep focus to complete another 13 weeks. I must admit, the last 30 days of X3 were tough to keep focused for some strange reason. I'm guessing that I noticed physical/strength improvements in the first 60 days, then the gains probably weren't as apparent.
First time ever trying anything like this. Overall I'd give X3 high marks!

Random thought the other day.
What percentage of women on p90x DVD's has Tony slept with?

on a small scale of 1-5...how important is it to use supplements? And by supplements I mean creatine, whey, multi-vitamin etc... no test boosters, prohormones

I use creatine tabs and it does help me get a little better "pump" on resistance days. That's all I use, though, and I'm not a big dude at all.

I've been doing P90x for almost 2 months now and havent been using any supplements at all. Was curious if maybe I have been cheating my workouts by not using some. I'm def looking for a pre-workout though bc some of my afternoon workouts are getting harder and harder to find energy for.

It's important to take something, whether a supplement or food, after a workout. Your body makes a lot of repairs within the first hour or so after a workout.
Also, it depends on what your goals are. I take a weight gainer because I'm trying to gain mass, and also because I have a higher caloric intake due to doing X3 AND T25.
I suggest at least a whey protein to take after resistance workouts.

I'm struggling to eat clean and reach my calorie intake of 2400. I can't seem to get my macro carb intake accomplished. I'm really trying to cut out bread, etc and I just can't really get there. I'm getting tired of constantly shoveling vegetable in my mouth to try and reach it. Does anyone have an easy meal plan they could share that could help me out. Most of the plans I've found are ridiculous with their difficulty to comply. Thanks.

Here is the issue for me...I workout at night around 8pm. I try to eat supper at 6 so I give it time to digest. Im not really trying to gain weight so I wasnt sure how drinking a protein shake at 9 pm would benefit me

Supplements are exactly what they're name implies. They are supplementary, meaning extra. Do you absolutely need them to get strength gains or benefits from your workouts? Well, did the ancient Spartans need them? Did Jack LaLane? Did Hercules? Obviously the answer is no.
However, they can give you that little extra edge or that little extra push that might make everything a little bit easier or a little bit better. Pre-workouts should only be taken if you need that extra energy to do a workout. When I've had a long day at work and I'm tired, I will take one. You can even use coffee as a pre-workout; it's probably just as effective as those chemical laden GNC powders.
I personally use whey protein too, but only to make sure I'm getting enough protein in my diet. Protein from powder is the same as protein from chicken or egg whites, but it's easier, more concentrated, and more convinient for me to take a shake.
I also take creatine and BCAA's only because I've read studies that show these have a proven benefit in muscle recovery.
I take P90X Results and Recovery formula after a hard workout because all science aside, it does help me recover. I can be completely spent then drink that delicious orange cream drink and feel like a million bucks.

I use zucchini instead of bread pasta. I have a handheld pasta maker that you can use on vegetables like zucchini and squash. Add ground chicken or turkey, season, and add onions or whatever you want. It's good.
If you want a burger, use turkey patties and mushroom caps as the bread.
My caloric intake is almost 4,000. It's why I take the gainer. Gives me the extra 700 to 1400 calories I need for the day.
I know it's tough, bro.

Sweet potatoes
Beans
Sweet peas
Corn
High in carbs and non-grain.

Holy shite. I'm trying to loose some weight and am struggling with reaching 2400. There is no way I could eat clean and reach 4000.

It doesn't matter. Drink it after your workout. It will still assist in your recovery.
