I cant figure out if I should be taking supplements. I am 6-1 225 and trying to lose weight. I am down 8lbs on week 2. Do yall recommend taking a protein supplement if I am still trying to lose?

My 1st day was Monday Jan 6 and I weighed 216 (I'm 6'1"). This morning when I got on the scale I was 206.
Those are great results for a little over a week. My starting weight was 186(6,1) on 1/11. I am down to 181 this morning. I am a wiry build, so I am working of a decent spare tire

I wouldn't take supplements if you're trying to cut weight. Maybe wait till you are a month or so into the program and re assess the situation.

I have thought about taking the supplement as a way to get the protein without often associated fat in meats.....
About loosing weight, Hacker is on the right track regarding cutting out fried/fast food. I would seriously watch the amount of grain/wheat based carbs and any sugar.
I went from 225 to 176 a couple years back just from low carb/sugar diet and running. Time to trim the last of the fat and get back in to good eating habits again.

I say y'all just do Shakeology in the morning and Results and Recovery Formula after the workout. I bet the fat will just fall off.

Protein is protein whether you get it in powder form or chicken breast. If the powder helps you stick to eating clean than use it.
Shakeology used as a meal replacement will help you lose weight though.

My ideal weight should be around 190-195. I just need to keep at it and I am sure I will get there. The key will be not letting myself get back to the 215 range because as I get older I know that dropping 20lbs wont be as easy as it is now.
A big problem for me is I love beer and ii don't drink the traditional light beer unless I am going to drink a lot of them like when tailgating. I like a good full flavored beer and have a few everyday. I just enjoy 2-3 really good beers after a long day.

I guess it depends. I've lost almost 40 pounds since I started and I'm not even done with Phase 3. Nutrition is half the battle. Good luck.
ETA: and I weighed 208 pounds when I started. I'm 5'11".

So what's the difference in this and OG P90X?
Are there any different moves or much of the same, just condensed in to a shorter time frame?

You see some of the same moves but there are some new ones as well. The original p90x workouts seemed to focus on particular muscle groups i.e. chest and back, shoulders and arms, etc. These workouts pretty much all total body workouts.

It's delicious, some flavors are better than others though. I've been drinking it for breakfast for about 3-4 years. And you can always add stuff like fruit, milk, peanut butter, etc. to vary the taste slightly.
It's expensive, comes out to about $4 a serving so cheaper than buying breakfast somewhere.

Don't know about those, but I typically use the Syntrax Nectar shakes and they taste good. Vanilla bean torte is the best imo, Where I purchase it I use a full scoop mixed with about 16 oz of soy milk in a shaker. Probably better supplements out there, but this one taste like a desert and all the others I have tried taste like crap.
Read some of the thread the other day and decided to pull the trigger, my P90-3 shows up today
