Depends on what kind of man you are baw.

I dated a domineering woman. Bitch tried to drown me in a pool when I told her I'd drink when I wanted too drink and she needs to stop trying to control me. #2 sucks because that's basically someone who didn't grow up and needs daddy. #3 is probably more my style. Not much trouble, not trying to be the alpha in the house.

I see you've met my ex.

Pretty much describes my ex as well. The co-dependent relationship she has with her parents is just weird. You could understand, maybe if she was still in her early 20s but she's three years removed from 40.

Starting to think this as well. Mine was 100% gung ho career woman, and has already stated that she may want to stay home with the kids while they're young.

I see no problem with that, but I wont be okay with it turning into her staying at home after they're in school.

Mine is a career woman. Makes very good money. Just wants to stay home, ride my dick and take care of children.

I'm always shocked at how many "OT ballers" don't want their wife to be a stay at home mom.

It's not a question if I want her to. It's a question if we can afford it and our current lifestyle. The answer is no. I don't make enough money to support a family in the DC area comfortably.

Yea, my wife always jokes(probably dropping subtle hints lol) that she wants to quit her job when I get my next big promotion, hopefully soon.

I don't see the point, I get a big promotion, and the net result is we live exactly like we're living now? Screw that, I want the extra money to actually be extra money. I need a bigger house and nicer car!!!

I get that. It's hard to do in today's world (and my post wasn't really directed at you).

I'm referring to the people who want their wives to work even if they make enough money. There are a few examples of that in this thread.

#1 although I admire independent women, I can't take the domineering part.
#2 Overly dependent is not for me.
#3 Maybe a nice person but adds nothing to vacations, trips, extras, just because they have little.

I have been with all 3 of these types and I have the least tolerance for #1

I don't know how long you have been married but I think its important for mom to be home with the kids the first 3-4 years. I hope we can afford to do it.

All 3 personalities are the reason why it's best to seal the deal the first night and then never talk to them again.

Adds nothing monetarily. It's not that they actually add nothing. Given the 3 options in the OP, I'd want to go pay for that vacation myself and take #3 about 1000 times before taking #1 and #2

For me, how much a girl makes is just extra, but nothing I'd put any stock whatsoever into when choosing a girl. Unless it's 2 girls I think are literally exactly the same in every way, sure i'll take the doctor over the hostess. But independent of salaries, if I view the hostess as a better prospect long term, I'd go with the hostess.

I think I speak for most in this thread. If you allow your wife to stay home and not work with the kids...

You must forbid her from becoming a coupon person. Not even once.

What's wrong with couponing? My wife works but does it and routinely comes home with a bag of like 15 things from CVS with a receipt that says she paid .87 cents or some shite. I have zero time or patience to do that, so I'm glad she does.

She also does 100% of the shopping, I'm so thankful I almost never have to step foot in a Target or grocery store, or obviously, a Walmart.
