Why can't universities have one price based on the cost to attend? Let supply = demand.
ETA: want more students? Lower your price to attend. Have too many students? Raise the cost to attend.

Catholic High is more expensive than LSU for Louisiana residents.

For that money, I'd go to SMU/Baylor/TCU

The common market allows you to go to certain out of state institutions for in-state prices.
The number of common market courses of study NOT offered at a Texas institution but offered at LSU are few or zero.
tl/dr:Most probably does not apply, Texas has a bunch of public universities.

Don't forget to add I'd $500-1000 worth of books, clickers, and online homework sites every semester

Lol LSU was my first choice until my mom saw that LSU costed twice as much as Baylor did after they gave me a scholarship (I guess private schools give a lot more scholarships than public schools because like everyone I knew at school was on one?)

That's the estimated cost of living. tuition is like $4,600 per semester for in-state. i'd have to go look at my kid's fee bill for the exact cost.

Take a look at all schools in state versus out of state costs these days. It is crazy.

Holy frick. That's crazy. I graduated less than a decade ago and it was half that.
I would never pay forty fricking grand to go to LSU. Ever.

Seems he is a little late to the game on his decision to attend LSU. This is assuming he is looking to go this coming semester. If that is the case, he can join the Air Guard in Louisiana and start in Jan at LSU. this way tuition will be free. If he is still in high school, he can go to a high school in Louisiana for his senior year and then he will get instate rates.

When I came from out of state in 2003, OOS tuition waiver applied if you had a 30 or higher ACT score.

During the recession, programs like Golden Oaks and other non-resident waivers were cut along with the university budget cuts. LSU just developed a new program for Texas residents to waive 20% of the non-resident fee, beginning with entering freshmen this fall.

I understand what you are saying, but is an inflation of 100 dollars every semester really necessary?

Crazy, when I went to LSU 15 years ago out of State it was like 7k when I left it was up to 11 or 12.
