Bill Nye is claiming this as his own personal theory.
He is simply translating the "science jargon" into terms understandable by the general public. It's what he has done since he debuted on TV.
Think of him more like a science teacher than an "in the research trenches" scientist

No thank you. I'll continue to think of him as another TV star who doesn't have a clue about what he is talking about. Add him to the list of Hollywood stars who pipe off about climate change. He needs to stick to being a D list has-been who competes for Dancing with the Stars fame.
