Spend the money and get new boxes.
Uhaul prices weren't bad plus they had all kind of helpful specialty items like picture frame boxes and mattress bags.

For my recent move I just went to Home Depot and bought a box of the highest strength contractor grade trash bags and tossed my shite in there.
