OT Workout Baws: Lower Back Pumps

I get these back pumps when working out legs, back, and running. What could be the cause? I've tried looking it up but most are due to steroid use and I'm not on them. I engage my core when doing the lifts. I've also heard to take Taurine. Anybody have any luck?

I think that's pretty normal. Maybe start using a belt when you do DL and squats.

I wear a belt when doing heavy deads and squats but I don't wanna always wear it.

I used to get t it from a high rep/heavy DL session and it would jack me up for several days.
I stopped the high reps and it hasn't been an issue. Touch and go rep max is 3 for me on anything 65% of my max.
When I get super heavy, I'm doing singles.

Start taking a ton of taurine and drink more water. Also, make sure you are warmed up before you start a workout.

When a muscle gets a lot of blood going to it. Awesome for almost every muscle except the lower back.

I got it yesterday from just doing low intensity cardio, abs, and hyperextensions.

I got on the treadmill for 35 minutes plus stretched before doing the workout.

Oh like when arnold says feeling the pump is better than an orgasim? I got ya.. never had them in the back. Sounds like a cramp lol

Are you taking any blood vessel dilator type supplements?
Maybe a hamstring tightness or weakness causing lower back to work more.

I'd say the difference is that the cramp contracts and locks up while the pump will just be hard as a rock. Both painful.

I do take preworkout but I didn't yesterday. I took some caffeine only yesterday. I have been under the impression that caffeine was a vasoconstrictor but I have just read that it is only a vasoconstrictor in the head (why Excedrin works well) and a vasodilator in the rest of the body. I'm wondering if this is the cause.

Do the same workout with the dilator. Go from there.
If it's not that, then work on flexibility and strengthening the posterior chain.
