Yes, because calling to clarify is clearly a dumb idea.

One that another poster suggested as well

Well this thread is about to get interesting.

BTW, I still say that since both kids are young and close to the same age, bringing a sibling is perfectly normal.

I've noticed it's hard to get non family members to come to a kids birthday party. Some parents send them out to every Tom, Dick, and Harry hoping some kids show up.

Bring a case of beer with the 4 year old carrying it inside. Win win all the way around

She's still upset that I said her arse doesn't look all that great in her avy pic. This was after she was bragging about how great her arse is.

And that others agreed she should have posted a more flattering pic if she is gonna claim to have a great arse.

Makes sense if it was the 4-year-old, but a 1-year-old...? Weird. They're just sticking their kid in a high chair to shove icing in it's face and opening gifts/playing with toys. They aren't even old enough to have real friends or care who comes

I'm a non-parent, and an etiquette junkie (so this goes against my normal feelings), but I'd just bring the kid.
At 1, I assume the party isn't in a public place so it's not like there's a head count or anything fancy.

I always love people without kids who post in these types of threads. Always humorous to see people who have absolutely no clue. I would bring the 4 year old unless she is an out of control type of kid.

That's the first thing I thought too.

If these people don't know you well enough to know if you even have another kid, then you shouldn't be going in the first place IMO.

BTW, having kids doesn't make you more logical than the rest of us. Just FYI.

Leave the 4 year old home. Most of those party costs per head

Just don't go, it is a 1 year old. It should be a family get together. Chances are you don't want to foster this relationship, because the Mom is probably a little over the top nuts.

IMHO

No shite. But it does make you more than likely to have been in this same position once or twice before. Have you been in this position before?

If the party is at a pay per kid location then don't bring the other child. If the party is elsewhere then call and ask.
