With the news of the failed pumps, damaged catch basins, and obstructed street drains coming to light, will the legion of insurance companies that pay out of claims sue the city for reimbursement?

I'd think from a business standpoint, since its mostly vehicles, the cost of a suit wouldn't be worth it.

It would probably make more sense to stop writing policies, or significantly raise premiums where the losses are highest. This seems like something that will happen again. 4 inches of rain is not all that uncommon in this region.
