OT Legal Question: Huck Finn Receipt
Posted on 5/22/15 at 7:02 pm

So apparently a waiter at Huck Finn's in Nola typed in N!gger for a patron and they posted it on FB.
The patron talked about getting a lawyer and suing....
However, since then several individuals have posted comments on the originals guys FB and Instragram threatening his life and his family's life.
So could the guy who originally wrote that take screen shots and sue for harassment/cyber bullying?

Pretty sure that in LA all you need is to find a lawyer willing to take the case.

I hope he presses charges against anyone that threatens his life.

§40.3. Cyberstalking
B. Cyberstalking is action of any person to accomplish any of the following:
(1) Use in electronic mail or electronic communication of any words or language threatening to inflict bodily harm to any person or to such person's child, sibling, spouse, or dependent, or physical injury to the property of any person, or for the purpose of extorting money or other things of value from any person.
(2) Electronically mail or electronically communicate to another repeatedly, whether or not conversation ensues, for the purpose of threatening, terrifying, or harassing any person.
Not sure if he could sue but seems like those people were definitely breaking the law, so maybe.

I would think it would be more of a criminal case but you can sue anybody for anything.

Did anyone else catch the twist in her interviews with her lawyer yesterday? Buried under the "I couldn't sleep due to emotional damage and I had to leave work early causing financial hardship" was a gem that she had already left the restaurant before the receipt came and that someone else had sent the fish back.
If it wasn't a misquote it wasn't even her fish or directed at her and she had already left.
Where's the person that ordered the fish in all this?
