Yeah, ABC bought it from Fox a few years back and retooled it. Ryan Seacrest still runs the show, and they still audition people all over, but the focus is different. They focus less on the freaks and people who suck and instead pour on the sob stories Tom Renaldi style. Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan are the judges now, and they act more like mentors on the Voice than like insult comics back in the Fox days. The focus is on story and talent. It’s nowhere near as culturally relevant as it used to be, but this group of performers feels like the most talented I’ve ever seen.
