MC is the fall-back "I want to practice law in N LA" school. Nothing wrong with that, but it generally feeds off people who couldn't get into LSU, don't want to pay for Loyola (and don't want to be in NOLA), and aren't willing to go to SU.

i had lunch with Tulane's alum coordinator the other day, and she told me they'd cut the class size more then 50%.
I couldn't imagine coming out of school right now. sounds just awful.
I didn't know just what a golden age I hit by finishing when i did. silicon valley had just jacked up salaries all over, firms were raising rates and expanding, and even when 9/11 hit, it didn't seem to hit firms too badly. i got in all the training and networking i needed to have a two-client solo practice with 0 overhead, and somehow survived the 2009 crash (got HAMMERED).
timing is everything. I'm waiting to get hammered again soon. trying to start liquidating. sorry, i'm all geeked up after the Saints game and am rambling.

Legal climate in Mississippi is probably the worse in the country. Tort reform has decimated the defense bar, and very few plaintiffs lawyer left. ole miss grads can't even find jobs. They could shut down both law schools for decade and would still be bad. Rosenblatt was the goat.
If kids can't find jobs they quit going to law school and they eventually they begins to hurt

Tort reform has, in most instances, ironically lead to the growth of a few turn-and-burn Plaintiff's firm to the detriment of smaller practitioners.
Actually damaged parties get shite representation and shitty cases continue to be pushed for strike value (which benefits turn-and-burn firms).
FWIW I do transactional law and have no stake in how PI cases pan out.

Yeah, it's ridiculous. Loyola Law's grads are closer to Southern grads than to the ones from LSU or Tulane.
