So OP, do you recommend this remedy?
I do not. I rate it 1 star, only because there is actually a slight improvement in my breathing and I can still see. Aside from that, everything about this remedy is fricking garbage. I feel hung over this morning.
The swollen feeling moved from my eye to my ear last night, and of course my left nostril was still burning as I tried to go to sleep. I will be sure to remember that if I ever take a scorched earth approach to a home remedy in the future, I will not do it right before bed.

There are two things I recommend.
1. Neilmeds saline nasal rinse/wash (buy kits in most pharmacies (around $15).
2. Tony Chacherie Creole dry spice, shake and sniff, then start sneezing and blowing your nose. Jump-starts nasal drainage and relieves pressure.
I do both; NO JOKE, NO PAIN!

So now you have to get a syringe, fill it with Italian Dressing and squirt that in your ear.
I swear by it.

It’s always a good idea to put a 5% acid solution in your mucus membranes. If they were not swollen before I bet they are now.
A better solution would have been a hypertonic saline solution to help draw the fluid out of the swollen tissue. ie two neilmed packets to one of their squirt bottles with warm distilled water or roughly 3 to 5% saline solution.
If you do have a sinus infection, you may need a steroid shot now since you now pretty much chemically burned your already inflamed mucus membranes. The ear probably hurts now bc your eustachian tube swole up even more from the acid wash and is no longer draining what little it was before. All of the extra swelling closes off the drainage and sets up a perfect moist and warm breeding ground for the bacteria.
If you didn’t have a sinus infection before you will probably end up with one now!
But it could also still be sinus AIDS :)
For the love of all that is holy, This is the last place I would come for medical advice!!!!!
