Interesting fact, the company that owns Invisalign owns a portion of Smile Direct. The original pitch to investors in Smile Direct was that its the same technology as Invisalign, however with the tele-dentist for follow up visits. Initial visit is with dentist and Orthos. The business case is to cut out the middle man and bring the product Direct to consumers.
I have never done either Invisalign or Smile Direct just know some of the original investors in the company.

So what is the lower end? Give us a rough number.

You must not have dental insurance. I just got 2 pairs upper and lower Invisalign for $300. Mine are to help with me grinding my teeth, so that may be the difference. I tried the night guard, but couldn’t leave it in while i sleep, but the Invisalign retainers i have seem to be working well.

but remember the orthodontist probably has a cute woman who will give you the sales pitch. Like a car salesman she will have you signed up with the quickness
This is gonna come as a shock to everyone but... 100% guilty here!

You’re not the first.

TD, ask your orthodontist if you can switch to changing trays every week. After the first 8 weeks or so we switched changing mine to every week and essentially cut the time in half. The new studies show it is just as effective. Also you can change your bite with Invisalign, you just have to wear rubber bands which I did for the last few months. But hang in there, while the entire process is no picnic, it most certainly gets easier as you adjust.

So I am glad you went with the invisalign with an actual doctor. Smile direct club is bull crap and I wouldn't let them touch me with a 10 foot pole. They have law suits against them for a reason. There is a lab technician that sits at a computer and "designs" where your teeth will move to. They have NO proper training as to where your bite (occlusion) should be. You should have something called canine guidance when you are done (i.e. Your pointy-vampire teeth should lift and separate all of your back teeth when you grind your teeth from left to right). Just because you have straight teeth doesn't mean anything. Your bite has to be correct as well so over time you don't crack teeth, develop TMJ problems, and many other major complications. Plus if they move your teeth too quickly you can have root resorption (meaning your teeth will fall out of your head). YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET!! Your orthodontist went to college for 11 years and probably has 500-700k in student loan debt, but it is because they know what the heck they are doing. Rant over....

Seriously? I honestly hadn’t heard that.. i work in a professional setting.. maybe i was the subject of ridicule for that year and didnt realize it? Probably would have still done it since anyone in their 30s who give two shits about that kind of judgement needs to grow up.
