This is generally legislated by state.

The better question is why they have collision on a beater.

cause the collision cost goes down with the value of car, plus it turned out to be wise since shite got wrecked.

I wrote the OP while on a cell stuck in the airport and just now got back to look at the thread.

Not sure who started the $15k limit but I didn't say that. Buddy has state mandated limits and is in LA.

VERY VALID point raised about carrying collision on a POS car. I didn't think about that. But then it wouldn't be a question for the OT if he didn't have it. Anyway, using the OT feedback, I called him and told him he was fricked regardless of what happens.

BTW, the lady his daughter hit is a Personal Injury Lawyer. So there is that.

the state didn't mandate his limits. he chose to carry minimum.

Technically, any limit at the minimum or above could be considered having "state mandated limits."

Mung started that 15K bit when he gave a synopsis. I didn't help it either. Sowwy.
