OT appliance repairmen - igniter on stove won't turn off

I have a Whirlpool gas stove with electric igniter. The igniter is now constantly clicking (and sparking) on three burners. I unplugged it, let it cool, but it still ignites when I plug it back in.
BTW, do not touch the igniters when they are sparking. That shite hurts like a mo-fo. Trust me, I know.

You need to replace the igniter switch under the knob. In the mean time unplug the stove.

Did you clean the residue of food build-up off the igniters?

If you clean the cooktop and an igniter gets wet, it will do this.
Unplug to over night and you should be good to go, tomorrow.

Happens to us, usually after we clean, and get moisture near the igniter. We turn the breaker off, overnight. Good to go the next AM

It's not that the igniter is working, it's the igniter won't turn off. The is nothing wrong with the igniters themselves, it's the switch(es) under the knobs.

I have a hammer in my toolbox that will solve this lickety split.

The fix is throw that junk in the garbage and by a decent stove.
