OT - Birthday/Christmas cards?

What do you do with the Christmas/birthday cards your receive? I feel badly throwing them away immediately after I read them. I typically wait about two weeks and then throw them away. Is that trashy? Do you keep them?

Check for money.
Throw away.
Throw away.

I never get birthday cards. I save the Christmas cards to mail back in 20 years.

Odd thread subject but I have a niece who was born on 25 December.
We have never considered getting her a hybrid Birthday/Christmas card.
You have like a 1:365.25 chance of being born on Christmas (or any day except 29 February. That's a 1:1461 chance)
Sounds cheap and insensitive.
tl/dr:I didn't read OP.

I have a few birthday cards I have saved from my Grandmother. I saved them because I knew she wouldn't be around much longer. Any others go in the trash. Actually, I don't think I have received a birthday card since she passed away. Christmas cards, we get 5 or 6 a year. Hardly anyone sends cards out anymore.

I think a good rule on this is save stuff from kids, Trash others

I typically just toss them in the trash... However, for those family members who feel it necessary to send a family newsletter -- you sir go into a special pile I use to light my fireplace.

I have a box I save all that stuff in, also has random photos, ticket stubs, etc. I don't really go through it now, but figure I might like to someday.

I save cards from SOs if they have flowery shite written in them. I throw them away after we divorce/break up.

I usually keep them but I feel like I keep way too much stuff. I still have all the cards I received for high school graduation and piles of movie ticket stubs. And I worked for Target in high school and we had "great team cards" that I still have dozens of.
