I was 20 years old at this time and I’ve never heard of this. I watched the PBS video from 1987 on the subject. It was awesome.

How was this never been made into a movie.

All because a couple of guys who were up to no good started making trouble in the neighborhood.

I was in high school when it happened. I remember watching it live on TV.

Had the same sick to my stomach feeling watching it that I did a few years later watching Waco happen in real time.Seeing the flames grow and knowing there were people inside (especially children) burning alive.

Yeah, the adults were pretty much brainwashed shite bags in both situations, but the kids were truly innocent.

They dropped one little bomb and my mom got scared, she said “you’re moving with your uncle and auntie in a town called Bel-Air”

There were actually two run ins with the Move group. The first one some cops were shot (1 died). And the Move group say they never fired any shots and that it was the police that shot themselves.
The second confrontation was the bombing. Some Move people died in that one..The head scratcher was why didn't they put the fire earlier? 61 homes were lost..The bomb went off at 6pm and there wasn't any water put on it until 9pm..

Because bombing on a civilian home was clearly illegal, the bomb was euphemistically called an "entry device" in police records.

Sounds about right.

shite almost went down again in 2014 with the Bundy Standoff.

I think the threat of instant live stream coverage of these events has a tempering effect on overzealous law enforcement. Prior, it was easier to control the media and also limit their coverage of the events by limiting their access and cordoning off areas. Now you can get a live look right from inside the incident and it's instantly uploaded to servers that can't be seized and destroyed.

Huge technological win for small government conservatives and liberty lovers.

One of my extreme left wing friends on Facebook tried to post the meme about this one day on their usual "America is terrible" rounds. It only takes a little research to see that this wasn't just an unprovoked attack on this group. They were a designated terriorist group who had been making threats for a while and the police went to serve a bunch of warrants they had for a whole range of charges for the members in the house. The Move members fired at the police with automatic weapons which led to the shoot out and standoff. The Bombing was a terrible idea but the building was drenched by the fire department before the bomb was dropped to try and stop the fire from spreading. They were trying to break open a reinforced bunker on top of the building. The reason the Fire department didn't step in afterwards was the fear that the Move members would shoot the fireman, they already had a history of shooting police officers. So this wasn't some bunch of good citizens just exercising their rights who then got trampled on by the government. Oh just to show the kind of people we are dealing with after one of the founders of the group decided that he didn't want to be involved with the extremist group anymore the Move group had him murdered.

Comparing this to the Bundy incident is beyond stupid.

I was 5 when that happened and we lived not to far from there. Don't remember much except that people wanted something done but they took it way too far. They rebuilt some of the houses but they were shite.

Really? Is that what I did? Do you understand context?

My whole point was about how much more commonplace these heavy-handed incidents were prior to live streaming. The Bundy standoff is the type of event, prior to live streaming and 24-hour news coverage, that would have ended in a lot of bloodshed from butting egos on both sides.

But MUH false equivalence!

Try not to be so dense.

Water and power where turned off earlier that morning to that neighborhood. Also it wasn't safe for the firefighters to work the scene.

The police had shot over 10,000 rounds into the building and had to send units to the police academy because they were out of ammo.
