There isn't a network in the country that would air the show if it wasn't on a tape delay. It is the same reason there is a delay with high speed chases everywhere. All it takes is one dude who feels he has no other option than blowing his head off with a shotgun to change minds about the idea of airing stuff like that truly live. That scenario happened and now we have no truly live police video being aired on any network, major or minor, big or small.

What I would like to know is who has the final say as to what makes it to air? I can't believe that any PD in the country would sign up for the show without having some degree of control over what makes it to the screen.

The best live police coverage you will ever see comes from the handful of officers across the country who have taken to streaming their patrols on YouTube.
