Great show. Tech errors especially for such a inside channel to be understood at first. Production of the show is just as good as when it was on A&E.

Outside of the tech errors that was a fantastic first episode. Can't wait for more.

What’s the big difference between this and cops? Did people go crazy and love when cops was on?

Dan Abrams owns the media company that produces the show... whether it's on A&E or Reelz or on his Law & Crime network of YouTube channels
Reelz only provides a TV channel/air space to put it on
so this show feeling like A&E "Live PD" is not surprising in the least

the big difference between this & "Cops" is this show is live (or live-ish as I feel is the appropriate terminology) with analysis from current or former officers
gives it that "gameday" type feel that "Cops" doesn't have

Holy crap 23 pages! Unfortunately I'm away from home at a conference so I only saw an hour of it. Kinda sucks this week because these threads add so much to the viewing of it.
I forgot how funny Dan can be with his puns. Glad Sticks is retired...I wouldn't want to spend a day more on the Tulsa Gang squad than I had to. The new guy from Richland will grow into the role. He's a mix of Tom and the guy they had in studio with Dan for the pilot show.
They had a reversal last night so I wonder if the higher-ups had them air that, air 9:15-11, or ran it on tape delay (that's going to really screw up my DVR recording.
)

This is like NFL Redzone, but for live police action across the country. They stick camera crews in the police cars of a 16 or so police officers across the country and basically just go live to whichever crew has something exciting or interesting happening.

But none of it is really live. Not is cops. Many people say they like this better because it’s live, but it’s not. It’s put together for effect just like cops was.

Had no idea this was a legit thing until tonight. Live PD was the best show of all time imo. Can someone explain to me as if I was a small child how the hell I can watch On Patrol?

There is a small delay, but nothing major. A 10-20 minute delay beats a 6 month delay for shows like COPS.

Cops is much more heavily edited. LivePD shows both the action and the mundane. Showing the mundane adds to the excitement as you don't know when something will go down.
