You're hitting on my entire point. "Progressive" as it's used today is a misnomer and it irks me to see people like Mitch associated with an idea or set of ideas that don't in any way conform to his actions. He's never been about moving New Orleans forward

"Progressivism" is a moving target that simply seeks to change cultural norms to adapt to the conditions of the current times (whether they be good or bad). It has little to do seeking any sort of true universal justice.
I suspect you are thinking of classic liberalism, and not progressivism.
