Just ignore him and move on. This thread is finally back on track.

This would likely go toward proving intent / state of mind / mens rea. This could easily become a capital case.

Something about that whole sitting up at the table deal seems really odd. Could totally be the case, but from everything we have heard they just happened upon her on the side of the road.
On ABC Nightline last night it was the lead story. They showed where her body was found on the side of the road in the woods. Some of the crime scene tape was still on the trees.

They also showed a concrete picnic table in the woods near the shoreline.

I just noticed that in that nightline clip as well, Cat. Still just screams to me that there’s a ton we actually don’t know. While absolutely everything points to Theesfeld, it’s starting to get odd

I'm starting to really believe he had some sort of psychotic break. Whether from drugs or not. The details we are getting are just all over the place and are bizarre.
For a guy that isn't mentally retarded, he seemed to commit murder with the attention to detail of a 1st grader.

The local news reporters have been doing their reports from the scene in area of picnic table and the camphouse since Sunday. I doubt the cops are going to let the reporters set up in the middle of a crime scene within hours of the body being discovered.

Can we get this thread stickied?

Don’t underestimate what Farese comes up with.
Farese and Leslie Ballin got a woman who shot her husband (a pastor, no less) and his head straight off in their bedroom out of prison and she has the kids now.
Reason why she killed him? He made her wear sexy clothes in bed.

You give small town cops too much credit.
My favorite podcast is small town murder, and trust me: small town police forces are semiretarded when it comes to stuff like this. They just don't have enough experience with it.
Mistakes are made a lot.

My step dad and step siblings are from Humboldt, TN. My stepsister was at her mom's for Thanksgiving a few years ago, and there was a woman there who she didn't know but seemed really familiar. After eating and talking, she realized it was Mary Winkler

LAPD says hi. Can see the wheels a turning for a new Grisham book, this one’s right in his wheel house.

Better have solid evidence or it could be the Quentin Tellis case all over again.

Case where the girl was found burned. They didn’t have a lot of evidence on Tellis but the prosecutor’s preparation of local law enforcement witnesses was embarrassing. A case so badly handled and obviously I wonder if MBI pursued all possible angles

Hard to imagine something like that could take place in MS.

Pretty close to where this girl was found too

I watched that trial and the optics were so disrespectful to the family. Local law enforcement playing dumb local sheriff making yuck yuck jokes, laughs in the courtroom from personnel when they screwed the first verdict up. I turned it off I felt so horrible for her family
