RUMOR:
I heard from someone in the UM world that the girl was pregnant and there is suspicion on the baby daddy.
Would be very surprised if this is true that baby daddy is pasty white boy.

Crackpot theory - she was shot multiple times to prevent the body from floating once the waters rose. Some form of LE wanna be married man the shooter.

I am very saddened by this however I hope that it was not a random thing. Our daughter will be a freshman at Ole Miss this fall. I know that this can happen anywhere but it is unsettling.

Can confirm.
I am an Ole Miss alum and friends still living in Oxford said she was pregnant, boyfriend wanted her to get abortion, she said no and he killed her and dumped the body.
ETA:
Also heard he was "brought in for questioning" yesterday but hasn't left the station. That part they were unsure of, but said it is the prevailing rumor.
Apparently her friends knew she was pregnant and knew the boyfriend was livid she was keeping it.
If the picture I saw was him, he's a frat boy looking kind of guy. I will not post it just in case this story is wrong. Not ruining a guy's life.

With the rise of being a "sugar baby" you will see more murders like this. I know a few women that do it. They can't admit to themselves they are prostitutes and the stories they tell me demonstrate they are not in safe situations.

This is hysterically untrue.
I had tons of musician friends that were more hipsters. I had tons of granola friends that were more hippy. I was in a fraternity, but had friends in all groups and wasn't very fratty.
They have a big greek scene, but it is still something like <40% of the undergraduate student body I believe.
