That’s pretty cool…
We had tickets in the NW main bowl section at about the goal line, where upper level section was built with metal flooring, when the Saints scored people would stomp on the floor. It sounded like thunder going off, I remember the first time hear it as a kid, it scared the shite out of me.
Seeing the video with the ramps, it felt like it took forever as a kid to get up and down those. I remember one preseason game, it was so hot, an old lady passed out on a ramp and people were stuck on those narrow things what seemed like hours.
I also like the beer signs, however, I don’t remember them selling Schlitz at Tulane stadium. The beer pack guys had Falstaff and Dixie.

Do you have an email? I have some older Tulane folks that might be able to help

If you guys ever want to a great time machine back to the old stadium.. Check out a movie from 1969 called "Number One" it was super useful for getting a vibe for the old place as well as a few details. The Saints were new and still trying to get exposure so NFL films and the Saints allowed way more access than normal. The intro to Super Bowl IX highlights has a very brief look at the stadium at the start as well.
If you guys know any other sources.. Send them them this way as I am always on the look out for details in any photo I can find.

And freezing as the Arctic in the upper sections with a windy start of winter cold fronts later in the schedule. The foot stomping metal noise was indeed scary, sometimes I thought our section was going to collapse. It was wild.
Fun times.

I bet it was cold. Not much up there to block the wind. Its funny the two coldest Super Bowls on record were at the place. I don't see the NFL letting that record get broken.. lol.

Yep Super Bowl VI in 1972 was the coldest one at like 39 degrees. It always seemed like from the videos that Super Bowl IX was colder but I think it was just wetter, windier and more overcast. Im sure people who were there can offer more insight.

They said Charlton Heston was athletic as a 5 year old girl. Most of the play scenes were actual Saints footage.

lol.. yeah I think he broke some ribs in the shoot telling the guys to "not let up" The movie is meh, but I loved the time machine back to that place.. really helped set the scene about a much simpler time.

62 is good. I figure the more people like it the more info I can get to make it better.

Great memories for sure. I snuck in Tulane Stadium once when I was about 16yrs. old to watch the Tulane/ LSU game. I went to the East entrance and found the Tulane band, who were forming up outside the stadium. I asked a trumpet player if I could carry his horn case in. I told him that both my parents were Tulane alumni and that I could not afford a ticket (both true). After I marched in with them, I gave him his horn case back and ran off to find a seat.

Do you recall if the east side had rooms in the back of the concrete section or was it just open with grass and paths?

I was going to suggest this to you. It’s not in your video, however, the old locker rooms were located just outside the stadium as you exited from the northeast side (closest to Calhoun and Claiborne). it was just a smallish looking one story brick building. There's a few decent pictures of the locker rooms in Number One. That might be a nice added feature.
Maybe if you posted your email address, people might email you their own memories. If you already have and I missed it, sorry.

I was just a kid, however, I was at Super Bowl IX. it was just cold, rainy and miserable. My mom didn’t want me to go because she thought I would catch a cold. My dad took me anyway.
