No. They don't eat a red sauce because they are scared a woman will spike it with their period blood out of revenge or spite. I thought this was a well know superstition with older generation black men.

That's a fact, I've worked with several that wouldn't eat a red gravy brought to work.

Yes, it's a southern thing. The woman could mix her menstrual blood in the sauce and have control over you.
