While landscaping, road striping and other aspects of the project have yet to be finished, traffic is back to flowing normally, cross streets that were blocked have been reopened and the neutral ground will be open for Mardi Gras parades.

I hope Jefferson will be done soon too. And Claiborne. And Louisiana.

Jackson Ave has been a pain in my arse lately.
But they aren't doing any drainage it doesn't look like.... they just heeled back all those top layers of roadway and running a better smoother one.

Jackson needed to be resurfaced! I haven't been down there in awhile. What part are they working on?

The part of Jefferson needed for Mardi Gras is done.

I need to cross Jefferson on Freret for my morning drive, and it's been a cluster fluck since it's been closed.

From St. Charles to Tchoupitoulas. Went there this weekend and passed right by my old place of employment, N.O. General Hospital. Even with the old St. Thomas projects gone, that place looks bad. The hospital looks like it's been bombed out.
At least it looks like someone bought the old Jewish synagogue next door and have really done a good job restoring it. When I worked at NOGH that building was basically a heroin den. Full of used syringes.
