I took up a trade and was married to her a month before my 21st birthday. Her first day back in college was the day after our wedding.
Fast forward a few years, she graduated sigma kum laud (sp?) and began working. We ended up finding work in DFW and made the move to the suburbs.
Everything was good and we started popping out kids.

While we were living in DFW (10 years into our marriage) an old friend and my best friend was having trouble with his wife and dope in NO and asked if he could come crash on our couch. I told him, I’d help him if he got clean.
I set a few rules- he had to have a job and he had to stay clean. He did both and I started helping him with trying to find a place of his own.

My wife decided to give up a really nice position they offered to her at Alcon Pharmaceuticals to teach, instead. She said she prayed about it and that was what she felt God’s plan/calling was for her.
She also started taking some meds prescribed by her doctor for anxiety.
Unbeknownst to me (and also because I know nothing about hard drugs), she started supplementing her meds with methamphetamines that she was being supplied by my “best friend” who was having a “relapse” (in other words, he found a local dealer and couldn’t handle being clean.
