Does it account for the transponder being off?

If that is the case, I'd guess the autopilot would continue to fly the plane until it ran out of fuel, several hours later?

7 hours of fuel could put the plane anywheres.
We are just going to have to wait for pieces of wreckage to surface.

But wouldn't there be multiple trackings of the plane if it flew for several hours? It would have overflown it's destination by then, I'd think, no contact, no transponder. That should have raised red flags by the dozens with multiple countries it flew over.
I dunno.

Malaysia is trolling the whole world hard right now.

Slow Decompression Theory

If such decompression left the aircraft intact, then the autopilot would have flown the planned route or otherwise maintained its heading/altitude until fuel exhaustion.
Except we now know it didn't continue on its planned route. Its transponder was switched off, the aircraft was turned around, and disappeared somewhere on the opposite side of Malaysia.

Agree, maybe it wasn't in the air that long?

This theory makes the most sense if you rule out terrorism. Its not a common thing to happen but its well known in aviation and pilots/aircrew are trained to know the symptoms and realize when to go on oxygen. I honestly see this being what happened. Although its hard to believe the plane just kept going without anyone noticing. Maybe, they didn't have the autopilot on and it gradually decreased altitude/airspeed. Maybe the decompression disable autopilot along with the other equipment.

You must have missed the memo.
The Malaysia government is backing off the "plane turned around".
Yea!!!

This makes a lot of sense. The autopilot was disabled by the decompression along with the rest of the equipment.

I'm going with a suicide mission by one of the pilots or terrorism.

Modern airplanes such as the Boeing 777 have emergency backup systems of power, specifically a ram air turbine that converts wind power from the airstream into electrical power for the plane. If the plane did lose power the aircraft could have continued to fly into an area with radar coverage so it could appear, even momentarily, on air traffic control grids.

Vietnam has suspended search efforts for #MH370 as Malaysian Government refuses to be transparent and sincere with information.
Wow!
Wow!

Has it definitely been said now that it did not head west? I can't keep up with the confusion.

I know the pilots i fly with have a checklist.
First thing they do when they realize they are getting dizzy is, put the mask on, then establish comms, and then autopilot disconnect. So maybe something happened there.
Maybe they didn't have oxygen on 100% and the effects carried on after they put the mask on. They could have passed out after they disconnected autopilot.

We've got fishermen tales to consider.
And everyone knows fishermen are very reliable sources of information. Especially ones floating in a boat past midnight local time.

I have not seen or heard anything to dispute the westward track. Though the story is very fluid.
