Official DMV Driving Record

Has anybody ever tried to obtain one of these and been met with "our information does not match yours"? I've called about 10 different offices and the 2 that picked up both told me that the only way to obtain a driving record was online. Unfortunately, the online method has no contact information and the error code persists after double checking and even entering different information in the boxes.

I can tell you for a fact that the records are poorly kept--especially state-to-state. What would you need an official DMV record for?

Character and Fitness evaluation for an admission application to another State Bar Admin. It's a huge pain.

Get the one from your state of legal residence and call it a day. In college I got my fair share of tickets from Louisiana, Georgia, Virginia, and New York State--while driving on a La license for the first two years and a Georgia license for the last two. Only the La tickets showed up on the La license and only the Georgia tickets showed up on the Georgia license. NY and VA never came into the picture. It may be better than it was 10-15 years ago, but I think it's a tactic that insurance companies use. State Farm and USAA reported to me that they never found a single infraction on whatever driving report they were pulling.
