After further review, I am not including the Millerville shooting in this count as it was not within the city limits of either city. We all know it’s some BR bullshite though

Like mikelbr said, the kid's dad was out on bail for an attempted murder on Hanks drive which is a ghetto area not too far from Glen Oaks. I'm sure this was retribution for his past crimes. That's pretty sad if the kids were just caught up in the crossfire.

Well...is a fatal hit going to have a category? Smh. Christmas freaking Eve.

Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that took the life of a 53-year-old woman.

Authorities say the incident happened in the 2100 block of Scenic Hwy around 11:30 p.m. Monday.Viola Jarvis was struck by a white vehicle that was traveling northbound on Scenic Highway.

Police say Jarvis was not in a car at the time of the crash. Jarvis was reportedly laying in the roadway.

The driver of the white vehicle is still at large and the crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

I moved to Lakeview/ Lakemont as a wee lad as they were building it circa 1973. Avalon was built around 1974/1975. It was very nice then, it had a pool even which was a big deal then. There was virtually nothing on Millerville other than the Cracker Barrell at the corner of Old Hammond. We were all the River Oaks kids. We didn’t know we were lower middle class white trash- we were too busy playing sports to know much of anything.

We moved there in ‘75. The pool came along in ‘76. We were members for years (I think membership was something like $90 per year) and there were tennis courts too. I spent many a happy summer playing a set of tennis with friends, then taking a dip in the pool to cool off, rinse, repeat. Good times. Simpler times.

Given that I hung out with a lot of and went to school with all the kids in Lakeview Estates, it’s a virtual lock we know each other.

It was a nice area in the 70’s and 80’s. River oaks was a decent Elementary School back then. You had some kunckle heads at the end of the day it was a quiet area.

I am betting it was done by teenagers who knew the 17 yr old victim.
Right before dawn this happened when usually older thugs attack earlier in the night, during the holidays, and one article mentioned them going to the teenagers room.
They either got lucky or knew when the mother went to work.

This was a good time to not get caught as less people would be up early going to work or school as most people are off. Between shift change as the deputy’s on duty are working on the nights reports, and right before daylight.
