Most death certificates have multiple codes.
You can have up to 20 codes.
Comorbidity is more common than not.
Covid is more likely to be involved with deaths in people that have existing issues.
Some codes define common combinations

To take it a step further, wouldn’t it be accurate to state that the 6% that only list COVID are likely just sloppy coding?

So if someone has cancer and is shot in the head, the cancer is really what killed them.
Got it.

Yes.

It starts with millions of medical professionals, Covid testing and listing the primary and related causes of death then it makes its way to medical coders who have to sort through the thousands of codes to assign them.

In fact, we should just be looking at how many deaths we are having above normal, that is showing us what primarily Covid is doing.

Well, potentially yes if the cancer contributed to why they didn't survive the gun shot.

If you get shot with a gun and die from bleeding out because you had a condition that required you to be on blood thinners. You would have contributing factors.

It is important that these steps or taken. Not necessarily in that case but it is how scientists have connected many diseases and developed many drugs.

It is lazy to just say "heart attack". That is fine for friends and family but not for medical diagnosis.

Well...no shite.

"Died with" versus "died from."

This is why everyone else's death numbers are so low - they only count "died from."

Sadly this Probably won’t get the attention it should.

It wont. These are basically the same percentages from the 6-22-20 update.
Couple of posts and it was gone in a couple of days.
Edit: 7-22-20 update. I'm pretty sure there was a TD post on it, but I can't find it.
