So onto the next topic, will they automatically offer a depreciation check? Or do I need to request it?
They will not be forthcoming. You will have to discuss it with them.
I called last week about this and they told me to provide some type of justification for the depreciated value. I got a quote to buy my car from the dealership i bought from. Plan to provide that and average 'blue book' value and ask for the difference.
The body shop told me if they wanted to play tough they could put me in touch with someone who specializes in such. Would cost about $500.

They are required to make you whole again to the level you were in when the accident occurred. You are entitled to a similar vehicle to the one you were driving. If you had an SU then you should get a comparable vehicle, at least a larger vehicle than say a Corolla.
Not telling you to fake an injury, but you do gain some leverage for eh property damage claim if you have a pending injury claim.

Didn't even think of this, how do I go about making sure I get this?
You inform them that in addition to repairing your car to your satisfaction you are expecting to be reimbursed above and beyond the repair costs for diminished value on your vehicle resulting from the actions of their client.
They'll propose a number and you negotiate until you reach an agreement on the diminished value. If you can't reach an agreement on the value, you're probably going to end up in court/arbitration unless you go away or accept their offer.
