Ehh Cuban cigars aren't all that great. Not in today's huge market. I'm curious about that rum tho

As someone who burns 2-3 cigars a day, this news is meh.
Cuban cigars are valued by John Q American because they are a little difficult to get...the mystique of having something you shouldn't have.
Kind of like a French Bordeaux back in the day---ooh, look, it's from France!...some of the best wines in the world come from California...but I guess it ain't as fancy

Cubans are no where near the best cigars or rums in the world anymore and have not been for decades. It is simply people want what they can't have.

Had Cuban cigars in Aruba, and from Canadian friends who would travel there.
The Word Overrated isn't strong enough to describe them.

As someone who's smoked Habanos by the tens of thousands, I disagree.
Cuban soil can not be duplicated, giving their cigars, rum, & coffee unique flavours.
But, too each his own. Every palate is different.

I've had a few Cuban cigars. I'm not much of a cigar smoker though, and I couldn't tell the difference. I wouldn't say that they were bad or overrated I guess. They just weren't really any different. I wonder if it is kind of like really high end wine where people pretend to be able to tell the difference in quality because they are afraid of appearing unsophisticated.
