Does anyone here work for ***********? I’m about to walk into an interview and I was just curious if anyone had any pointers.

If anyone is uncomfortable outing themselves publicly, feel free to email me at corkfather@gmail.com

Well that’s a given. My plan is to walk in, rip a fart to impress the boss, which will hopefully lead to a high five; but instead of a high five, I was gonna flick him in the balls.

One thing I do know, is they are big on safety.....

Apparently they’re picking up, I know they’re in need of good service techs.

I’m applying in the Houston location, I know they have service positions available; the Morgan City office isn’t though.

Thanks man, this was not an easy interview to get. It took an old friend moving on to start his own business and recommendeding me as a possible replacement for me to get the call.

I’ve been onshore for 6 years but I’ve been trying to get offshore pretty much since day one. I’ve even kept my TWIC, HUET, Rig Pass, etc. current just in case an opportunity came up.

Why do you say that? They’re an international company with work all over the globe.

Because they're a service company and the stock market and oil prices could be headed for a downturn. O&G companies expanded expenditures a ton in the last 120 days or so before the big shift in price, which they were not expected. A lot of them lost their arse pretty good in futures with the bear market we just entered. If they've laid people of in the last 4 years, it shouldn't come as a shock if they pay people off again if there isn't a recovery.

We used to do a lot of service work for them before the oil field died. We haven't do anything of substance for them since then.

Definitely some good ol' 4x4 lifted truck driving baws running the operations over here.

OT oil baws don't "interview". They get hired directly w/out one. So no, not your people.....baw.

It’s my understanding that the offshore side of the industry has been much more cautious. It’s not like onshore where it’s basically become the Wild West in places like the Permian Basin, with companies drilling like maniacs with no thought of possible consequences.

Onshore is mainly smaller operators, whereas all of the big boys (Chevron, Shell, etc.) are offshore.

I understand, we do consulting for them as well as some of their servicers.
